Active membership is available to firms engaged in the processing of secondary or recyclable materials as their primary business. Patron membership is available to firms with purchasing needs consistent with those of scrap recyclers. Member applicants must acknowledge the bylaws, rules/regulations and submit a one-time membership fee. Once accepted for membership, firms become equity owners in the cooperative and are entitled to the benefits thereof.

Associate purchasing relationships are available to firms belonging to certain trade associations that the directors have approved a professional relationship. Associates are entitled to purchase products from NASCO-OP at a discounted rate, however the relationship ceases when membership with the trade organization terminates. Associates are not owners of the cooperative and are not required to submit the one-time membership fee.
